The power to drive UV lamps
Electronic power supplies, also called electronic ballasts, are crucial for the operation of UV lamps. They work by providing a high voltage charge that ionizes a mixture of mercury and gas inside the lamp, creating a plasma that emits UV light. This requires a specific type of power supply, usually a magnetic ballast transformer paired with a high voltage capacitor bank. The power supply first ‘strikes’ the mercury with a high voltage charge to ionize it, then maintains a consistent UV light output by regulating the voltage and current to keep the mercury ionized.
In essence, the electronic power supply manages the electrical energy required to start and sustain the UV lamp’s light emission, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively for its intended uses, such as instantly curing inks and coatings in printing processes.
Our electronic ballasts are meticulously designed & manufactured for their high efficiency, low energy consumption, and robust reliability. In addition to efficiently powering UV lamps and adjusting the UV output cost-effectively, they are highly intelligent and can integrate with PLCs, communicating digitally via fieldbuses like CANOpen and Modbus, to provide sophisticated and advanced control.
We have a deep understanding of the indispensable role of electronic ballasts for ultraviolet UV lamps, as well as their core function in an excellent UV system. To cater to our clients’ needs for emerging new materials and products, we persistently engage in research and innovation within the field of electronic technology.
Our goal is to provide our clients with products of superior quality, intelligence, energy efficiency, stability and reliability, while also meeting their diverse demands for different powers, voltages, and currents.
We have proudly and significantly achieved our objectives through our close collaboration and trusted partnership with PowerUnits Leistungselektronik GmbH, experts in electronics, and a globally recognized leader in the production of efficient and intelligent electronic ballasts.
